Job Description
Position Summary:
Power Contracting's Director of Safety is responsible for the standardization, implementation and execution of companywide safety programs and initiatives. This position establishes processes and strategies to deliver a positive safety culture and supports for a safe, qualified workforce.Essential Functions:
Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures. Recommend improvements to safety programs and program processes Develops loss reduction strategies across the division Assists with ensuring all safety manuals, programs, policies, and practices are current Build consensus when appropriate, motivate and encourage others Communicates well both verbally and in writing (creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations) Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules. Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting. Enforces stop authorization for all operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment. Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems. Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations. Reviews accident and incident reports.Minimum Requirements:
At least five years of occupational health and safety experience in the electric utilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Physical Demands:
