As a "Department of One," the successful candidate will own the end-to-end lifecycle of HSE programs across expanding manufacturing operations in the US and Canada. This position requires a unique blend of corporate policy development and "boots-on-the-ground" tactical execution. Key Responsibilities Strategic Program Ownership Serve as the definitive Subject Matter Expert and primary point of contact for all HSE matters across North America. Author, implement, and evolve regional HSE manuals, SOPs, and emergency response protocols to ensure a unified safety culture. Maintain a visible presence through regular, hands-on safety audits and risk assessments while providing real-time coaching and corrective actions to plant & remote personnel. Technical Compliance and Risk Mitigation Drive seamless compliance with OSHA (US) and OHS (Canada) regulations at federal, state, and provincial levels. Personally lead all incident investigations using Root-Cause Analysis and manage the workers' compensation process from initial report to return-to-work. Oversee all environmental permits while leading sustainability initiatives to reduce the North American resource footprint. Data-Driven Leadership Develop and track critical HSE Key Performance Indicators to measure program effectiveness and identify emerging safety trends. Formulate and present data-backed recommendations to the leadership team to drive continuous improvement and organizational alignment. Maintain comprehensive reporting systems that provide transparency into regional safety performance and regulatory status. Training and Culture Advocacy Design and deliver high-impact safety training and "Toolbox Talks" tailored to both front-line workers and executive leadership. Facilitate and energize local safety committees to foster a "floor-up" safety mentality where every employee acts as a safety stakeholder. Qualifications Apply 5+ years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment with a demonstrable track record of scaling multi-site programs as an individual contributor. Utilize deep technical expertise in Machine Guarding, LOTO, Fall Protection, and HAZMAT. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field. Possess CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) credentials which are highly preferred. Travel up to 20% - 30% to maintain high-visibility leadership at regional sites. The Ideal Mindset Thrive on building gold-standard programs from the ground up without requiring a pre-existing roadmap. Maintain the comfort level to present a data-driven safety strategy in the boardroom and walk a production line in steel-toed boots. Excel in an environment where individual impact directly correlates to the well-being of the workforce. Constantly seek ways to streamline compliance and safety processes to maximize impact across multiple jurisdictions. The Opportunity This is more than a compliance role; it is an invitation to define what safety looks like for a growing manufacturing leader. This position offers the autonomy to make high-level decisions, the authority to implement organizational change, and the backing of a leadership team that views HSE as a core business value
