About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Health & Safety Manager (EHS) to lead and elevate our safety programs across complex power, utility, and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a proven leader with deep expertise in electrical generation, transmission & distribution (T&D), and construction safety who is passionate about building strong safety cultures and driving operational excellence.
You will partner closely with engineering, field operations, and leadership teams to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and continuously improve safety performance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures
Ensure compliance with
OSHA, NFPA
70E, environmental regulations, and company safety standards Drive a proactive safety culture through training, coaching, and leadership engagement Conduct and oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation Partner with project managers and field teams to integrate safety into daily operations and project execution Perform site audits, inspections, and risk assessments across utility, construction, and engineering environments Monitor and report on key safety metrics, KPIs, and compliance performance Lead safety initiatives for electrical systems, power delivery, and infrastructure projects Manage contractor safety programs and ensure alignment with company standards Stay current on evolving regulations and industry best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 10+ years of EHS experience, with significant exposure to: Electrical generation, transmission & distribution (T&D) Utility or infrastructure construction Engineering or consulting environments Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and industry safety standards Proven experience leading incident reduction and safety culture transformation Demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams Experience with risk assessments, audits, and compliance programs Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHST, OHST)Similar jobs in Washington, DC
