The Safety Advisor supports field safety operations for power line transmission construction projects across Georgia. This role works closely with field crews, foremen, supervisors, and safety leadership to promote a strong safety culture, assist with compliance activities, identify and correct hazards, and ensure safe work practices are consistently followed on active job sites. The ideal candidate is dependable, coachable, detail-oriented, and committed to building a long-term career in construction safety within the electric utility and transmission industry. Duties
  • Travel daily to support field crews and active transmission line construction project sites throughout Georgia.
  • Conduct field safety observations, site walks, and documented inspections to identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, equipment concerns, and corrective actions.
  • Support daily job briefings, tailboard meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses before work begins and when site conditions change.
  • Coach crews on company safety expectations, PPE use, housekeeping, work-zone awareness, equipment safety, and safe work procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring work near energized or potentially energized lines and equipment, including awareness of minimum approach distances, arc flash hazards, and qualified-worker requirements.
  • Support verification that de-energizing, lockout/tagout, testing, grounding, and equipotential bonding practices are addressed through approved procedures when applicable.
  • Observe fall protection practices for climbing, elevated work, structures, aerial lifts, and bucket trucks, and escalate concerns when controls are missing or ineffective.
  • Assist with safety orientation, onboarding, field training support, and reinforcement of site-specific safety requirements.
  • Document safety observations, inspections, near misses, incidents, corrective actions, and follow-up items accurately and timely.
  • Participate in incident response, preliminary fact gathering, root cause review, and corrective action tracking as directed by safety leadership.
  • Help maintain safety records, inspection logs, training documentation, SDS information, and other compliance-related files.
  • Monitor the condition and readiness of company vehicles, safety equipment, first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and field resources.
  • Promote a professional, respectful, and proactive safety culture while partnering with field leaders to resolve concerns quickly.
  • Perform additional safety and field support duties as assigned. Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and navigate uneven terrain throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, extended hours, or emergency response support based on project needs.
  • Ability to safely travel long distances throughout Georgia on a regular basis. Skills Qualifications and Certifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license with the ability to travel daily to project sites throughout Georgia.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred; willingness to obtain OSHA 30 as part of continued development.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred or ability to obtain.
NFPA 70E
electrical safety training preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Fall protection competent person training preferred.
  • Lockout/tagout, arc flash awareness, and incident investigation training preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA construction standards, OSHA electric power transmission and distribution requirements, and utility safety practices preferred.
  • Basic computer, smartphone, and field documentation skills required.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, follow-through, and attention to detail. Experience and Core Requirements
  • Entry-level safety candidates are encouraged to apply; prior construction, utility, electrical, transmission line, or heavy civil field experience is preferred.
  • One to five years of construction or utility experience is beneficial, but equivalent military, trade school, technical school, or field-based experience will be considered.
  • Ability to learn and apply company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and transmission construction safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with crews, supervision, contractors, customers, and safety leadership.
  • Comfortable working around active construction environments, heavy equipment, energized-system hazards, changing weather, and remote project locations.
  • Ability to follow instructions, ask questions when needed, and work independently after training.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
