Job Description

This position is a Corporate Safety Director Position for a Commercial Construction Company with primary focus on metal framing, drywall, and acoustical ceilings. The position will be based out of our Cartersville location; however the day-to-day base of operations will vary depending on current project needs. Includes project sites in Georgia, North Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. The position will include however not be limited to the following duties. 1. Establish a culture of Safe Production with an emphasis on proactive safety planning and accident/incident prevention. 2. Develop, submit, implement, and maintain BBC site specific safety plans. 3. Manage all aspects of any injuries or incidents from start to finish. This includes proper record keeping and documentation. 4. Develop and implement internal project safety audits. 5. Provide recommendations and assistance, along with the project managers and foreman with respect to job site hazards, employee training, new/safe equipment operation and safe material utilization. 6. Ensure compliance with corporate worker's compensation program including working with internal personnel and third party administrators/legal counsel, to effectively investigate and resolve claims in an expeditious and cost effective manner. 7. Perform and oversee investigation of accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions to include interfacing with workers compensation claims and communication with injured workers and the return-to-work strategies. Cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organizational use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations. Provide recommendations for remedial action. 8. Remain current on federal, state, county and local safety regulations. Keep management advised of new or revised regulations and their projected impact. 9. Plan and implement programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, safe equipment operating techniques and fire prevention for job sites and office. 10. Facilitate employee training in first aid and CPR, OSHA-30, equipment operation, fall protection, leading edge, scaffolds, powder actuated tools, lasers and other required trainings. Maintain training records in the employee files. 11. Ensure new employees receive safety instructions prior to beginning work. Emphasize any specific site hazards and thoroughly explain all applicable precautions. 12. Provide training and education to all levels of staff, as required, and by Federal and State safety regulation. 13. Review new Subcontractor pre-qualification documentation to ensure they have an acceptable safety record and communicate with the Field Safety Manager and Project Manager of their acceptance or rejection. 14. Manage and oversee motor vehicle fleet safety program and conduct driver background investigations to qualify authorized drivers. 15. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to ensure positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, co-workers and management. 16. Frequently communicate with company President and Project Managers to keep them apprised of pertinent issues. 17. Monitor, update and Implement BBC Safety Programs and new employee orientations. 18.

annual reporting. 19. Coordinate Jobsite needs with project Foreman and Customers. 20. Attend Jobsite Meetings and Coordinate BBC Activities with Customer. 21. Develop and Maintain Client, Co Worker, and Customer Relationships. 22. Occasional Equipment Deliveries. 23. Represent yourself and BBC in a confident and professional manner. 24. Work Hrs. are approx. 7 am-6.00 PM M-F-Occasional Work on Weekends as required. These hours may vary depending on workload and number of projects involved with. 25. Maintain a positive attitude. 26. Travel within the southeast may be required on a as needed basis. This should be expected 1-2 nights per week but will vary depending on specific project needs. 26. Qualifications:
Clean Background Check and DMV Driving Record E-Verify 5 year's experience in construction safety, planning, management and training
OSHA 500
CPR/1st Aid Trained Training experience with small tools, fall protection, lasers, stilts, material handling, ladders, powder actuate fasteners, PPE, general construction safety, etc.
