This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, maintaining SQF standards, managing quality systems, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization. Position Responsibilities Manage all Food Safety and Quality Assurance functions as defined by company policy, serving as the SQF Practitioner and taking a lead role in Crisis Management. Act as the company's Process Authority for Acidified Foods . Manage Integrated Pest Management functions and serve as the Pest Control Officer . Coordinate with Sales and Operations regarding Research & Development activities to support new product development, process improvements, product enhancements, and cost-saving initiatives. Prepare and maintain ingredient and finished product specifications, supplier approvals, and document control systems in collaboration with Sales and Operations. Chair the Food Safety/HACCP Team and ensure root cause analyses and corrective actions are completed and effectively implemented. Develop and implement food safety and quality training programs for employees, contractors, and suppliers. Work closely with Operations to approve and order supplies, equipment, and ingredients. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and industry networking. Respond to customer quality concerns and provide input for corrective and preventive actions as needed. Manage third-party food safety audit programs to meet customer, regulatory, and corporate requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the food industry . Previous quality management or supervisory experience required. Strong knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and regulatory requirements. Experience with acidified food processing preferred. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and functions. Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
