Job Overview We are a logistics/trucking company that opened it's doors in 1998. We are a family owned and operated company that started with one terminal in one city and now have expanded to 5 different cities. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Trucking Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives within the transportation and logistics sector. In this vital role, you will oversee compliance with federal, state, and industry safety regulations, ensuring our fleet operates securely and efficiently. Your expertise will help foster a safety-first culture across all trucking operations, mitigate risks, and uphold the highest standards of regulatory adherence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on operational safety while supporting our commitment to excellence in freight transportation and supply chain management. Duties Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive trucking safety programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and other regulatory requirements. Reach out to potential new drivers and assist them throughout the on-hiring process. Reach driver count goals. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and fleet inspections to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations for transportation of sensitive goods, as well as transportation management best practices. Oversee regulatory reporting related to safety incidents, accidents, and compliance documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize freight handling procedures while maintaining safety protocols across the supply chain. Lead training sessions on safety policies, risk management strategies, and regulatory updates for drivers and staff. Manage incident investigations, prepare detailed report writing, and recommend preventative measures to reduce future risks. Monitor fleet management activities to ensure vehicles meet safety standards, including maintenance schedules and driver compliance. Experience Proven experience in transportation management or fleet management within a logistics or freight environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, FDA transportation guidelines, and industry best practices for risk management and compliance management. Demonstrated ability to develop safety programs that promote a culture of safety awareness among drivers and staff. Experience with regulatory reporting processes related to transportation safety incidents. Excellent report writing skills with the ability to analyze data and communicate findings effectively. Familiarity with supply chain operations, freight handling procedures, and transportation technology solutions is highly desirable.
