About the Role As the HSE Manager, you will be a key member of the site leadership team, responsible for leading Health, Safety, Environmental, and Process Safety initiatives across our manufacturing and logistics operations at Chicago Heights, IL. This is a highly visible role where you'll influence culture, build capability, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement across multiple sites. You will provide strategic leadership while remaining hands-on in the development and implementation of HSE programs that protect our people, assets, and reputation. What You'll Be Doing Lead and develop the site HSE team, fostering a strong culture of safety and accountability. Drive HSE strategy, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with operational leaders. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements. Oversee risk management, environmental programs, and HSE management systems. Provide expert leadership in Process Safety Management (PSM), including PHAs, MOCs, mechanical integrity, and incident investigations. Monitor and communicate HSE performance metrics, driving proactive improvement actions. Build strong relationships with regulatory agencies, emergency services, industry groups, and local communities. Coach and mentor leaders and teams to achieve sustainable safety and operational excellence outcomes. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. 10+ years of HSE experience within a chemical manufacturing or similarly regulated industrial environment. Proven leadership experience managing teams and influencing across multiple sites. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, environmental management, and process safety requirements. Demonstrated expertise in Process Safety Management and risk reduction programs. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Experience working with regulatory bodies and driving organizational change. Preferred qualifications include professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or CIH, along with experience in ISO 14001, Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and behavioral safety programs. What We Offer Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary range for this position is $145,000 to $184,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
