FMCSA & DOT

regulations Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies Monitor driver behavior , HOS, logs, and violations Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses Manage CSA scores (BASICs) Prepare for and manage DOT audits Conduct driver training and safety meetings Coordinate drug & alcohol testing programs Review dash cam footage / telematics (Motive, Samsara, etc.) Work with insurance, legal, and management teams Experience Education & Experience Typical requirements: High school diploma or GED (required) Associate's or Bachelor's degree (preferred but not always required) 2-5 years experience in: Trucking safety Fleet management DOT compliance Certifications (Preferred / Strongly Valued) Not always required, but a big plus: CDL (active or past) Smith System Driver Trainer Certified Safety Professional (CSP) - advanced
