Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology Pay Range:
$87,318.40 - $181,355.20 Position Summary Responsible for the overall leadership, operations, and performance of the Radiation Department, including supervision of staff, regulatory compliance, and daily workflow management. This role combines operational oversight with direct clinical support, serving as a Radiation Therapist as needed to ensure timely and efficient patient care. Provides hands-on delivery of radiation therapy treatments, including operation of linear accelerators and/or brachytherapy, in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols. Ensures accuracy, safety, and quality in all treatment administration. Additionally, responsible for acquiring simulation images using CT or other imaging modalities to support treatment planning and optimize patient outcomes. Key Performance Areas KPA 1 - Department Operations & Leadership Oversee all operational, administrative, and clinical functions of the Radiation Department. Supervise technical, clinical, and administrative staff; ensure appropriate staffing coverage and scheduling. Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management, and annual evaluations for radiation staff. Provide guidance to cross-functional support staff within the radiation scope of service. KPA 2 - Clinical Quality & Patient Care Ensure accurate delivery of radiation treatments in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols. Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Physicists, and Dosimetrists to adjust or optimize treatment plans. Educate and support patients on therapy procedures, safety precautions, and care expectations. Maintain high standards of patient safety, quality outcomes, and service delivery. KPA 3 - Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation requirements for radiation services. Ensure all regulatory filings, documentation, and logs are accurate, current, and audit-ready. Uphold HIPAA standards and ensure confidentiality of patient and employee information. Ensure all staff maintain required licensure, certifications, and continuing education. KPA 4 - Financial & Business Performance Monitor department P&L and key performance indicators; implement corrective actions as needed. Manage payroll processes and labor utilization effectively. Oversee supply inventory to balance operational needs and cost efficiency. Identify staffing needs and justify requisitions based on business demand. KPA 5 - Process Improvement & Operational Excellence Evaluate and enhance clinical and operational processes to improve efficiency and outcomes. Implement new protocols, workflows, and best practices as needed. Ensure preventative maintenance and operational readiness of all equipment. Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment. Position Qualifications/Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy Sciences Minimum Relevant Experience Four years radiation therapy experience. Two years supervisory experience. Certifications/Licenses State license (if required)/certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT). Must have current CPR/BLS certifications. Fluency in the English language as well as excellent oral and written communication skills is essential.
