Job Title:
Safety Supervisor Job Overview:
CIMC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Supervisor to join our growing organization. The Safety Supervisor will play a crucial role in maintaining and promoting a safe working environment by assisting in the implementation and oversight of safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety-related incidents, accidents, and near misses. Compile and organize safety documentation, including training records, safety meetings, and compliance reports.
Reporting:
Generate regular reports on safety metrics, trends, and key performance indicators for management review. Prepare and submit required safety reports to regulatory agencies in accordance with established timelines.
Compliance:
Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Stay informed about changes in safety laws and regulations and communicate relevant updates to the team.
Training and Communication:
Coordinate safety training sessions and workshops for employees, ensuring that all relevant safety procedures and protocols are communicated effectively. Act as a liaison between management and employees to address safety concerns and provide guidance on safe work practices.
Investigation:
Participate in the investigation of safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, gathering information and contributing to the development of corrective and preventive action plans.
Emergency Response:
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response procedures and drills. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure the availability and functionality of safety equipment and resources.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with the safety team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes and procedures. Propose and implement initiatives to enhance the overall safety culture within the organization.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certification in occupational safety is a plus. Proven experience in a safety-related role, preferably as a Safety Clerk or in a similar administrative capacity. Familiarity with safety regulations and standards. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficient in the use of MS Office and other relevant software. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
