Job Description

Safety Manager Bilfinger Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager at our location in Kansas City, KS. Join a team where integrity, quality, and the seamless integration of skills are the working standard. Responsibilities Develop and implement innovative HSEQ programs and strategies. Supervise and administer safety activities. Coordinate and maintain and update all documents relating to safety and accident prevention including the safety manual, drug testing & background check program, and training documents. Maintain health and safety records of all employees to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations. Actively manage and coordinate all workers' compensation claims including the Return-to-Work program. Participate and provide input on the prequalification of new sub-contractors. Facilitate and coordinate the Safety Committee and work to implement a positive, employee-supported program. Conduct unscheduled and scheduled inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations. Conduct employee and contractor safety orientation and trainings. Conduct incident investigations identifying root causes and executing sustainable corrective actions. Monitor company and contractor safety performance. Conduct toolbox talks, project audits and safety inspections. Review and provide input on construction work plans with project managers. Support our clients desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted HSEQ assessments. Provide coaching and support to construction field operations. Work with various project teams to effectively implement assignments. Requirements Minimum 10 years with safety experience in an industrial construction setting. Experience as a safety professional with a demonstrated progression of management responsibility is preferred. The ideal candidate would possess a B.S. in Safety, Occupational Health, or HSEQ Experience in excavation, lifting and rigging, crane operations, demolition, confined space, working at height, steel erection, scaffold and other construction processes Experience with work permitting process
Skills:
Strong management and organizational skills are required. Broad-based background in multiple phases of construction. Business acumen, conflict resolution, and coaching ability are a must. Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner. Effective communication skills, with strong technical writing skills. The ability to speak in front of large groups. Proven leadership skills in motivating and mentoring all levels of employees. Proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications. Requires the ability to walk extensively, climb stairs, and ladders or scaffolds throughout diverse work environments as required by business demands.
