Job Description

For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot). Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services. Join a team committed to safety excellence. Davis H. Elliot is seeking a highly motivated Safety Technician to support our Central Region operations. This role is based in Lexington, KY and provides safety leadership and training support across Kentucky and portions of surrounding states. As a Safety Technician, you will play a critical role in fostering a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement. Working closely with Field Safety Directors, you will help implement strategic safety initiatives, ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, and support field crews with training and risk reduction efforts. Your work will directly contribute to injury prevention and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership:
Assist Field Safety Directors in executing safety programs that align with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
Crew Support:
Provide hands-on guidance to field teams on safety, health, and training initiatives.
Compliance Management:
Ensure adherence to OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal reporting requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement innovative methods to reduce risk and improve safety performance.
Culture Building:
Promote a proactive safety mindset where employees value and practice safe work habits.
Collaboration:
Work closely with regional supervision and compliance teams to deliver measurable safety improvements. Qualifications Passion for safety and leadership.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in construction or a related field, or a degree/certification in safety. Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, delegate, and lead. Excellent communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels. Ability to foster teamwork and drive performance improvement.
