Job Description

HSE Manager Drax is seeking an HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental programs at our renewable energy operations. You will develop and implement HSE strategies, ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations, and drive a safety-first culture across biomass and power generation activities. Key duties include risk assessments, inspections and audits, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up. You will coach leaders, coordinate contractor safety, deliver training, track performance metrics, and support continuous improvement to protect people, assets, and the environment in a low‑carbon energy business. Lead site health, safety, and environmental programs for biomass and power operations Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state HSE regulations and company standards Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and HSE audits; track and close actions Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions Develop and deliver HSE training and toolbox talks for employees and contractors Support and coach site leaders to embed a safety-first, continuous improvement culture Manage HSE performance metrics, reporting, and regulatory documentation Oversee contractor and vendor HSE requirements and onboarding Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects and process changes to manage HSE risk Drive initiatives that improve environmental performance and support decarbonization goals Occupational health and safety management Environmental compliance (air, water, waste) Risk assessment and mitigation Incident investigation and root cause analysis HSE auditing and inspections Safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001) Environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) Regulatory reporting (OSHA, EPA, state) Contractor and vendor HSE oversight HSE training design and delivery Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent preferred Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) a plus OSHA 30-Hour or higher safety training Experience with ISO 45001 and/or
