Site Safety Manager

$50/hr- $60/hrDiversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to join our team and support a general contractor in Fort Meade, MD. This role offers the opportunity to play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, ensuring compliance, and fostering a proactive approach to workplace health and safety on a large-scale data center project.
Key ResponsibilitiesChampion Safety Culture:
Prepare and enforce health and safety policies that build a safe, proactive jobsite environment.
Lead Safety Programs:
Design and implement safety programs, plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
Monitor & Report:
Track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates
Identify & Solve Hazards:
Spot risks early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are implemented.
Drive Engagement:
Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to keep teams engaged and aligned.
Stay Present & Involved:
Maintain regular on-site presence, participate in project meetings, and provide proactive safety guidance.
Ensure Compliance:
Verify that all work follows approved manuals, internal procedures, and contract requirements.
Maintain Documentation:
Keep accurate logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.
Oversee Site Activity:
Supervise subcontractors and contractors to ensure work meets EHS requirements.
Investigate & Improve:
Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses; follow through on corrective actions.
Enforce Standards:
Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures at all times.

Support the
Project:
Contribute to additional safety initiatives and requirements as needed.

Project-Specific Requirements
EM 385 1-1 40
hour is requiredBoard Certified Safety Professional, CHST or CSP credentials are mandatoryPrevious NAVFAC project experience is requiredPreferred Qualifications5+ years of hands-on construction safety experience.

OSHA 30First Aid/ CPR/ AEDStrong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.

Ability to produce clear reports, develop procedures, and implement effective safety solutions.

Excellent hazard recognition, data analysis, and risk assessment skills.

Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.

Professional presence on-site and ability to lead teams through incidents or emergencies with composure.
