Regional Safety Manager Glen Burnie, MD 21061 Full-time Full-time The Berlin Steel Construction Company is a full-service specialty contractor, primarily with structural steel and miscellaneous metals. We design, fabricate, and erect structures in the Northeast and in other parts of the country. We have 2 fabrication facilities, 4 erection operations facilities, and 6 office locations that provide engineering and management of projects. We are a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP) with a desire for growth. We service the private commercial, public, institutional, and industrial markets. We are currently looking for a Safety Manager who is passionate about creating safe, compliant, and proactive job sites. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction safety (preferably steel erection), thrives in fast-paced environments, and is confident leading field teams and management through safety planning, audits, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Train and support field personnel, foremen, and superintendents in safety practices for structural steel and miscellaneous steel erection projects. Travel regularly to active jobsites, fabrication facilities, and regional offices and conduct regular jobsite inspections and audits. Assist / review and comment on the site specific safety plans and company-wide programs. Review subcontractor safety programs and ensure alignment with Berlin Steel and customer requirements, notify and prepare written report of any violations or unsafe practices to Subcontractors for immediate correction actions. Conduct incident investigations, create corrective action plans, and maintain records. Guide project managers and supervisors on integrating safety into operational planning. Manage accident reports, insurance claims, and support claims review processes. Communicate safety updates verbally and visually to enhance field awareness. Maintain and submit weekly activity reports to Corporate Safety leadership. This is a general summary of the job responsibilities for this position, other duties may be assigned from time to time to meet the needs of the organization. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction safety, preferably structural/miscellaneous steel. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, construction codes, and field safety practices. Proven ability to identify hazards and recommend corrective measures. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with strong leadership presence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Valid driver's license with clean driving record; travel to jobsites in multiple states is required . Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 500 & 510
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
