Project Manager Summary:
The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel and property on construction sites. This position requires an
EM 385-1-1
40-hour class completion certificate. The SSHO must ensure that the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 are met for the project.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the project's safety program
Conduct safety inspections and audits
Investigate accidents and near-misses
Train employees on safety procedures
Comply with all applicable safety regulations
Communicate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other stakeholders on safety matters
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926.16
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
