Job Description
This position will be located at one of our Metro-Detroit Assembly Plants.
The job responsibilities include, and are not limited to the following:
Direct and implement wellbeing, health and safety processes designed to improve keyperformance metricsEnsure compliance to federal, state, provincial and local regulations, and Corporate Policies andProceduresLead the SIS (lean manufacturing) WHS activities in the plant for all populations of employeesDirect and implement standardized WHS assessments and programs to address needed trainingAudit WHS processes and provide necessary follow up to ensure complianceOversee, track, and follow up with appropriate partiesin regards to Incident Investigations and corrective actions.
Oversee requirements for new equipment programs with Engineering/FacilitiesFacilitate integration of ergonomic standards and processes to reduce risk and achieve site goals and objectivesManage the timely submission of documentation, reports, permit applications, inventories andsurveys to appropriate government and regulatory agenciesCoordinate communication of WHS regulatory activity with plant and corporate leadershipDirect the implementation and sustainment of
ISO 14001
(EMS) and OHSAS 18001Support all shifts and work additional hours as requiredBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, Science or related fieldMinimum of 8 years of Safety, Environmental, Engineering or related experience in a manufacturingenvironmentStrong understanding and application of federal, state, provincial and local environmental and safetyregulations and requirementsEffective written and verbal communication, excellent presentation skillsStrong leadership, analytical and problem solvingskillsProficient in Microsoft Office suite and /or other software applicationsPreferred Qualifications:
Environmental or safety professional certification (e.g. PE, P. Eng, CSP, CHMM)Master's degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, Science or related fieldAutomotive manufacturing experienceMinimum of 10 years of experience in Safety, Environmental, Engineering or related field in a manufacturing environmentThe Plant Wellbeing, Health and Safety (WHS) Lead position is responsible for leading a team ofwellbeing, health and safety specialists whose primary duties are ensuring the health, safetyand wellbeing ofemployees. In addition, the lead position serves asthe key advisor to plant management on the implementation and management of health, safety and wellbeing initiatives designed to promote and achieve StellantisIndustrial System (SIS)criteria, our program for lean manufacturing. The WHS Plant Lead will report directly to the HR Manager in their respective plant, and functionally to the Division Lead in the Corporate WHS Staff.This position will be located at one of our Metro-Detroit Assembly Plants.
