Job Description

HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our EHS team as a Plant Environmental Health and Safety Administrator III. In this exciting role you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations, while also leading plant safety. Summary The Plant Environmental Health and Safety Administrator III is a specialized and critical position accountable for contributing to HarbisonWalker International overall business performance by ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, environmental regulations and corporate policies and programs in HarbisonWalker International's production facility. This role is responsible for leading plant safety team and company/union safety team. Responsibilities Ensuring facility is in compliance with occupational safety & health regulations, environmental regulations, and corporate safety & health policies and programs. Conducting facility audits, inspections and employee engagements to verify compliance with EHS regulatory and corporate requirements. Assisting/advising facilities regarding workers' compensation/incident investigation related issues. Assisting corporate environmental engineers with data acquisition for reporting, permitting, etc. Promoting safety awareness and regularly participates in facility safety activities. Leads monthly safety training activities. Coordinates/oversees and/or conducts industrial hygiene monitoring and medical surveillance programs. Preparing monthly EHS reports. Monthly EHS data entry into EHS tracking software. Requirements Requires four (4) - six (6) years of industrial/manufacturing safety experience with a general knowledge of environmental regulations. Requires BS degree or equivalent experience in safety/environmental or a related field Requires computer operation skills including, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn new software systems. Strong analytical, interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and workers' compensation regulations and practices
Physical and Environmental Requirements Physical Activity:
Requires more than 2/3 of time talking or hearing; 1/3 to 2/3 of time standing, walking and / or sitting; and less than 1/3 of time using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling /crouching/crawling; and smelling.
Lifting:
Requires Some light lifting on occasion
