This dynamic role acts as the central hub between our fabrication shop and field crews. You will handle everything from safety compliance and crew scheduling to precise field measurements and material verification. Crucially, this position carries full executive hire and fire authority over all field installation teams and shop fabrication staff, making you the primary driver of accountability, productivity, and culture in our organization.

Key Responsibilities Personnel Leadership:

Manage, recruit, hire, discipline, and terminate field installers, commercial glaziers, and shop fabrication personnel to maintain a high-performing workforce.

Safety & Compliance:

Enforce OSHA safety guidelines, implement company protocols, run weekly toolbox talks, and conduct safety audits across all active commercial job sites and the fabrication shop.

Crew Scheduling & Optimization:

Build, update, and manage the master deployment schedule for multiple installation crews across all commercial projects (storefronts, curtain walls, window walls).

Field Verification & Sizing:

Physically visit construction sites to confirm overall job readiness and perform high-precision physical field measurements to calculate glass orders and layout configurations.

Shop Oversight & Quality Control:

Monitor daily shop workflows, manage material cutting/fabrication efficiency, and audit output to ensure field crews never experience project downtime.

Administration:

Audit, track, and approve weekly electronic timecards for field and shop staff to maintain strict budget costing.

Qualifications & Requirements Experience:

3+ years of hands-on experience in the commercial glass and glazing industry (storefront, curtain wall, window wall, and architectural glass).

Safety Certifications:

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).

Technical Skill:

Absolute mastery of reading architectural blueprints, shop drawings, structural tolerances, and using field measuring equipment (lasers, tapes).

Computer Literacy:

Proficient with basic business computing, including email communication, digital spreadsheets (Excel), and electronic time tracking or scheduling apps.

Leadership:

Proven experience supervising crews with a firm but fair leadership style and strong decision-making capabilities regarding hiring and termination.

Licensing:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (for travel to regional job sites).

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
