O'Fallon, Missouri Legal and Audit Days Full-Time 112735 STL1-E36 $76,252.80 - $124,155.20 / year (Salary or hourly rate is based on job qualifications and relevant work experience) Job Description Additional Information About the Role BJC HealthCare has an opening for a Manager of Emergency Management, Environmental Health & Safety, and Communications serving Progress West Hospital and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. This onsite leadership position provides strategic and operational oversight of the hospitals' emergency management, environmental health and safety, and PBX/hospital operator programs. The manager is responsible for maintaining comprehensive preparedness and safety programs, supporting regulatory compliance, coordinating emergency response activities, and ensuring reliable hospital communications operations. The position works closely with hospital leadership, clinical and support departments, BJC system partners, public safety agencies, emergency medical services, emergency management agencies, healthcare coalitions, and other community response partners. Overview Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare's newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children's Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care. Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks. Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital's medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Manages, develops and directs overall operations for safety, compliance with regulatory standards and policies relating to safety and telecommunications. Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients, guests, volunteers and contractors. Coordinates safety and telecommunication activities with other campuses and public emergency responders as appropriate. Responsibilities Monitors and ensures compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations through implementation of safety and health-related policies and procedures. Coordinates and oversees the development and implementation of the management plans, goals, evaluations and ongoing performance improvement. Oversees hazard surveillance inspections, identifies risks and coordinates implementation of risk strategies, in addition to coordinating and overseeing an industrial hygiene program. Oversees log record-keeping, accident investigation and job hazard analysis. Prepare & implement organizational construction safety policies, procedures and submit summary activity reports in accordance with agency/accreditation requirements. Serves as the Chairperson of the Safety Committees, and coordinates and oversees the activities of the Safety Committees. Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
