Job Description

HSE Manager Drax is seeking an HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental performance for our renewable biomass and power operations. You will develop and implement HSE programs, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and drive a proactive safety culture across sites. Key responsibilities include risk assessments, audits, incident investigation, and corrective actions. You'll partner with operations leaders to embed best practices, deliver training, and track performance metrics. In this role, you'll support Drax's mission to decarbonize energy while protecting people, communities, and the environment. Lead development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across biomass and power operations Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HSE regulations and company standards Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses, and environmental impact evaluations Plan and execute site audits, inspections, and HSE performance reviews Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions Develop and deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and coaching for employees and contractors Monitor and report HSE KPIs, trends, and regulatory reporting requirements Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate HSE into projects and daily activities Lead emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response coordination Promote a safety-first, continuous improvement culture aligned with Drax's sustainability goals Occupational health and safety management Environmental compliance (EPA, state regulations) Risk assessment and hazard analysis Incident investigation and root cause analysis HSE management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) Regulatory reporting and documentation Safety training design and delivery Auditing and inspection programs Data analysis and HSE performance metrics Emergency response planning Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) a plus OSHA 30-hour or higher safety training ISO 14001 and/or
