Job Description

Hybrid position with regular travel throughout Region 3, including Greensboro, Durham, Spartanburg, Roanoke, Goldsboro, and surrounding locations. Travel to assigned terminals is required at least three times per week, with occasional overnight travel as needed.
OVERVIEW
Foster a positive culture while managing the comprehensive motor carrier safety and security program in accordance with company policies and ensure compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to the safe transportation of petroleum and food products and the service utility fleet (CMV).
RESPONSIBILITIES
(other duties may be assigned) 1. Assist in managing the comprehensive safety and security program for CLI Transport (CLI), Sheetz Distribution Center drivers (DC), Sheetz Bros. Kitchen drivers (SBK) and Sheetz Motor Carrier drivers (SMC). 2. Ensure the effective implementation and consistent execution of safety programs and strategic initiatives within assigned area of responsibility. 3. Monitor and ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations 4. Conduct inspections and compliance audits to ensure safety policies, programs and practices are appropriately followed. Provide strategies to ensure satisfactory results and continuous improvement. 5. Partner with other operational support departments in the talent acquisition process and manage the onboarding of new commercial motor vehicle drivers into company procedures, regulations, and safe driving. 6. Manage company vehicle accident files, liability and subrogation claims and maintains accident registers and statistics. 7. Assist in the documentation, investigation and reporting of vehicle crashes, driving complaints, product handling incidents. 8. Prepare and present specific safety training materials for driver safety meetings. Attend various departmental and trade association meetings. 9. Provide recommendations to the Director of Safety regarding improvement of the company's safety and security programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered) Education Bachelor's degree in safety science or related field required Experience Minimum 3 years' safety experience in trucking or business management required Licenses/Certifications Valid Driver's License Tools & Equipment General Office Equipment
