T his position leads the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team at our large and complex manufacturing site . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall EHS program at the site, including creating and implementing strategic safety and EHS initiatives to foster and enhance our EHS culture. This role requires a strong technical EHS skillset to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations . It includes participation on the Plant Leadership Team and managing a team of direct reports as well as the ability to lead and influence without direct authority . Ensures compliance withquality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal andsafety regulations, policies and procedures.Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership :
lead and manage a team of EHS professionals, providing guidance, support and development opportunities.Strategic Initiatives :
Develop and implement strategic EHS initiatives, policies, programs, metrics to continuously improve the site's EHS culture, performance.Technical Expertise :
Strong background in critical safety programs, such as LOTO, Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, Electrical Safety and Fall Protection in order to coordinate day-to-day implementation of programsCompliance :
Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, laws, standards, permits/licenses and company policies.Training and Development :
Design and deliver training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the EHS team.Incident Management :
Facilitate incident investigations with strong root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Continuous Improvement :
Drive continuous improvement in EHS processes and practices through data analysis, audits, and feedback.Stakeholder Engagement :
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational decisions and projects. Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.Education:
Bachelor's degree required in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred Functional Safety Certifications, Certified Safety Specialist, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Six Sigma Green, or Black Belt preferredExperience:
Five years of relevant experience in EHS management in a large manufacturing. Strong technical knowledge of LOTO, Machine Guarding, incident investigation, and root cause analysis. Experience in Medical Device, Chemical, or manufacturing is preferred. Experience withOSHA PSM
is preferred. Experience managing a team in a cross-functional environment is required. Knowledge and experience inISO14001, ISO
45001, andISO 50001
compliance preferred. Auditor certifications a plusKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven leadership experience, ability to develop and mentor a team- Proficient Continuous improvement skills
- Proficient Experience in managing/handling environmental compliance including reporting and record keeping, environmental permitting for all media, manufacturing operations, regulatory reviews
- Proficient Able to administer and interpret OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
- Advanced Able to perform compliance assessments and action plans
- Advanced Handling conflict/mediation skills
