Job Description

Part-Time Site Safety Manager Location:
Newark, NJ Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM (20 Hours/Week)

$40-$50 per hour (based on experience and certifications) About the
Position:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Safety Manager to support an ongoing construction project in Newark, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional looking for a consistent part-time schedule while making a meaningful impact on jobsite safety and compliance. The Site Safety Manager will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific requirements, conducting field inspections, and serving as a resource for both management and craft personnel. Responsibilities Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits Monitor compliance with OSHA, client, and project-specific safety requirements Identify hazards and implement corrective actions Lead and document toolbox talks and safety meetings Perform new worker orientations and safety onboarding Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and work plans Monitor high-risk activities including excavations, confined spaces, hot work, crane operations, and work at heights Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and assist with corrective actions Maintain daily safety reports and project documentation Support project management and field supervision with safety-related concerns Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching and employee engagement Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, ASP, or other safety certifications preferred Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and incident investigations Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work independently and interact professionally with clients, contractors, and project teams Proficient with basic computer programs for reporting and documentation Preferred Experience Commercial construction Civil construction Utility, infrastructure, or industrial projects Data center, transportation, or large-scale construction projects What We Offer Competitive hourly pay ($40-$50/hr) Consistent weekday schedule Opportunity for additional hours and future project opportunities Supportive team environment Opportunity to work with a growing safety consulting firm
