Job Description
Construct a career with Canyon Construction! Canyon Construction is hiring for an experienced Safety Officer to oversee safety on mining construction sites. Job Duties Help each employee improve his safety mind set and prevent accidents and injuries. Demonstrate ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced, demanding environment Ability to assist in enforcing all federal, state, local and company safety regulations Ability to teach and mentor Assist, correct and train employees in accurately completing the Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA) forms and the vehicle and equipment daily inspection forms. Perform on-site job safety inspections Escort employees for drug testing. Do on-site job safety inspections Complete Safety Observation Reports Job Requirements Full time 40-50 hours per week, Day Shift. 10 hours for 5 days, Tuesday through Saturday. Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings and a background check Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement appropriate corrective measures Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills Strong computer skills Experience in the construction industry or safety internship or related college experience Knowledgeable in MSHA and OSHA regulations. Must have current MSHA certification.
