This role ensures safe execution of work involving excavation, trenching, shoring, utility installation, heavy equipment operations, traffic control, confined space entry, and commercial construction activities . ‑authorized) and internal safety courses for field crews, foremen, and operators. Conduct Competent Person training for trenching/excavation, confined space, lockout/tagout, and equipment operation. Maintain training records, certifications, and qualification matrices for all employees. Coach field leadership on hazard recognition, job hazard analysis (JHA), and safe work planning. Field Safety Oversight Perform routine jobsite audits across multiple utility scopes (gas, power, telecom, water/sewer, storm drain, fiber). Verify proper use of trench boxes, shoring, sloping, and safe access/egress. Ensure compliance with utility‑owner requirements (NV Energy, Southwest Gas, Cox, CenturyLink, municipal water authorities, etc.). Monitor heavy equipment operations, rigging, lifting, traffic control setups, and confined space entry procedures. Incident Management, Management & Reporting Lead investigations for incidents, near misses, property damage, utility strikes, and injuries. Conduct root‑cause analysis and develop corrective action plans. Prepare formal reports for insurance carriers, general contractors, and regulatory agencies. Maintain OSHA logs, environmental reports, and internal safety metrics. Identify high‑risk trends and implement mitigation strategies. Participate in pre‑construction planning, utility coordination meetings, and contractor safety orientations. Support fleet safety, driver qualification files, and vehicle incident reduction initiatives. Lead safety committee meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Environmental Compliance Oversee stormwater (SWPPP), dust control, spill prevention, and waste management compliance. Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and environmental documentation. Coordinate with environmental consultants and regulatory agencies as needed. Required Qualifications 5-10+ years of experience in construction safety, with at least 3 years in underground utilities or civil construction . OSHA 500 or

(Construction) required; OSHA Authorized Trainer preferred. Strong knowledge of excavation, trenching, shoring, utility installation, and heavy equipment operations. Experience with multi‑utility environments (gas, power, telecom, water/sewer, storm, fiber). Ability to read plans, utility maps, and traffic control drawings. Strong communication, leadership, and field‑coaching skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple jobsites daily. Preferred Qualifications CHST, OHST, CSP, or equivalent safety credential. Confined Space, HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR Instructor certifications. Experience with incident reporting systems, safety analytics, and digital field tools. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred for field communication. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk uneven terrain, enter excavations, and inspect confined spaces. Ability to respond to emergency situations and after‑hours incidents when required. Performance Indicators Reduction in incidents, near misses, and utility strikes. Pay:

$77,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
