Job Overview The Teen Travel Director leads Oasis's senior teen travel program, a five-day-per-week experience that includes frequent off-site travel and two overnight trips. This senior leadership role is responsible for program oversight, staff supervision, logistics coordination, risk management, and family communication. The Teen Travel Director works closely with the Camp Director, Director of Travel Programs, and Operations Director and serves as a key member of the camp's senior leadership team. Responsibilities Risk & Safety Leadership Serve as the senior leader responsible for the physical and emotional safety of all teen travel campers and staff. Maintain constant situational awareness in public spaces, transportation settings, and overnight environments. Conduct thorough risk assessments for all trips and activities. Ensure all Oasis safety policies, travel procedures, and Department of Health regulations are followed. Establish and enforce supervision plans, headcount procedures, and safety expectations. Lead emergency response efforts calmly and decisively. Document and report all incidents in accordance with Oasis protocols. Staff Supervision & Safety Accountability Supervise, mentor, and evaluate counselors and trip leaders. Set clear expectations for safety, professionalism, and judgment. Ensure staff consistently adhere to safety protocols and procedures. Provide real-time coaching and corrective feedback. Model best practices in risk awareness and leadership. Travel Operations & Logistics Oversee logistics for daily travel and overnight trips. Coordinate schedules, rosters, supplies, and emergency plans. Communicate with trip venues regarding itineraries and safety requirements. Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure safe, reliable travel. Partner with Operations leadership to manage transitions. Leadership & Teen Experience Lead the daily experience of teen campers. Create a culture of respect, responsibility, and inclusion. Ensure teens remain engaged, supported, and appropriately challenged. Support social and emotional needs in collaboration with staff. Maintain a consistent leadership presence. Overnight Trips Plan and lead overnight trips with safety as the top priority. Ensure lodging meets supervision and safety standards. Prepare staff for overnight supervision responsibilities. Serve as the primary decision-maker during overnight travel. Family Communication Serve as a primary point of contact for families. Communicate proactively about safety, expectations, and trip details. Address parent concerns with professionalism and empathy. Communicate promptly regarding incidents or changes to plans. Who You Are A seasoned, confident leader with strong judgment. Experienced working with teens in travel or off-site programs. Calm and decisive in high-responsibility situations. Highly organized with strong communication skills. Deeply committed to safety and youth development. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education, Youth Development, or related field preferred. Significant experience leading youth trips or overnight programs required. Prior experience as a school teacher or senior youth leader strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience supervising staff. CPR and First Aid certification required. Pre-Summer Schedule Off-season hours begin in the spring and increase leading into the summer. Responsibilities include trip planning, staff training, and coordination with vendors. Summer Schedule The summer season runs from late June through late August. This is a full-time leadership role, including daily travel and overnight trips. Pay:
