Poughkeepsie, New York Job Description As an EHS Oversight Professional, you will provide onsite health and safety oversight for a 15-week interior demolition and asbestos abatement project at a major corporate facility in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role involves monitoring contractor activities, enforcing site-specific safety requirements, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety protocols. This is a field-based position requiring a consistent onsite presence, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively alongside construction, demolition, and environmental remediation personnel.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide daily health and safety oversight during interior demolition and asbestos abatement activities Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations, site safety plans, and project-specific procedures Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project coordination meetings Document safety observations, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions Maintain project safety records, reports, and compliance documentation Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and facility representatives to address safety concerns Support incident investigations and assist with implementation of corrective actions Promote a positive safety culture and proactive approach to hazard recognition and mitigation
Position Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of construction, demolition, remediation, or industrial safety oversight experience Knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards and best practices Experience supporting asbestos abatement, environmental remediation, or demolition projects preferred OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred
OSHA 40 HAZWOPER
certification preferred Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and maintain a full-time onsite presence throughout the duration of the project.
Pay Range:
$30.00/hr. - $55.00/hr. (depending on experience)
