Jun 26, 2026 FDRsafety is seeking a Safety Manager for an industrial construction project based in Bowling Green, OH. This role is responsible for executing and overseeing site-level safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal and local regulations, driving a strong safety culture, and serving as a key liaison between field operations, project management, and senior leadership. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a safe work environment through hazard analysis, compliance enforcement, employee training, and proactive engagement across project teams. The Safety Manager will also support corporate initiatives, training programs, and long-term safety planning. Key Responsibilities Implement and supervise site-specific safety, health, and environmental protection programs.
Maintain compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Conduct regular jobsite audits, hazard assessments, and inspections.
Investigate incidents and near-misses using root cause methodology; recommend and track corrective actions.
Provide new-hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training for field employees.
Serve as an on-site resource for supervisors and employees regarding safe work practices and procedures.
Lead safety committee meetings and maintain documentation of safety performance metrics.
Collaborate with project managers to develop and update site-specific safety plans (SSSPs).
Ensure proper use and availability of PPE, and approve procurement of safety supplies.
Coordinate crisis management planning and emergency response procedures.
Manage return-to-work programs and assist with workers' compensation claims.
Represent the company in OSHA inspections, insurance walk-throughs, and regulatory hearings.
Support the implementation of behavior-based safety programs and recognition initiatives. Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Safety, or related field strongly preferred.
Equivalent field experience or safety-related certifications (e.g., CHST, STS-C, OHST) will be considered. Experience Minimum of 5 years of safety leadership experience in construction or heavy industrial environments.
Prior experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
Familiarity with mechanical, industrial, or MEP construction safety requirements is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective measures efficiently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence change.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience coordinating drug testing, compliance audits, and incident documentation.
Strong time management, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to travel and perform fieldwork (ladder climbing, walking uneven terrain, lifting, etc.)
