+ Holidays Summary The HSE Manager is responsible for coordinating and leading all Health, Safety and Environmental activities within the PMC organization, ensuring that project management services are delivered in accordance with Swedish legislation, Nordic industry practices, client requirements, and corporate HSE standards. The role provides HSE leadership to the PMC team throughout all project phases, promoting a strong safety culture, monitoring compliance, supporting risk management activities, and acting as the primary HSE interface between the PMC organization and the client. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate HSE activities across the PMC team. Ensure PMC services are performed in compliance with Swedish HSE legislation, applicable AFS regulations, environmental requirements, and client standards. Provide HSE guidance and support to PMC personnel during engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. Participate in project risk assessments, safety reviews, and HSE planning activities. Monitor HSE performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate HSE audits, inspections, and assurance activities within the PMC scope. Support incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are effectively communicated across the PMC organization. Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture aligned with Nordic best practices. Act as the focal point for HSE matters between the PMC team and the client's HSE organization. Manage PPE for the PMC team and liaise with suppliers to ensure all team members have the necessary equipment. Attend meetings with the client. Organise training courses for the PMC team. Coordinate the HSE team and its interaction with other departments. Requirements and Skills Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 8-10 years of HSE experience in large industrial, energy, infrastructure, or construction projects. Proven experience in Nordic countries, preferably Sweden. Strong knowledge of Swedish Work Environment legislation, AFS regulations, and environmental requirements. Experience working in PMC, EPCM, or Owner's Representative organizations. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Fluent English; Swedish is considered an advantage.
Preferred:
Experience in heavy industrial projects, green steel, energy transition, mining, or process industries. Familiarity with Nordic safety culture and Swedish project execution practices. Previous experience working with multinational project teams in Sweden.
