Job Description

In need of a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Safety Manager to oversee, implement, and continually strengthen safety operations on our jobsites. The ideal candidate will promote a "safety-first" culture, ensure compliance with federal and local regulations, and work collaboratively with project teams and subcontractors to identify hazards and mitigate risks before incidents occur

Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Programs:

Develop and execute Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) and enforce adherence to OSHA, EPA, Army Corps of Engineers and local environmental health and safety regulations

Site Inspections & Audits:

Conduct regular, rigorous site inspections to identify unsafe conditions or actions, implementing immediate corrective measures.

Training & Education:

Lead worker safety orientations, administer OSHA 10/30-hour training, and conduct routine toolbox talks.

Incident Investigations:

Lead or support root cause analyses for incidents and near-misses, and maintain accurate recordkeeping and reporting using HCSS Heavyjob Safety software.

Subcontractor Coordination:

Review subcontractor safety programs and conduct preconstruction and pre-installation safety meetings to establish risk mitigation plans.

Metric Tracking:

Compile and analyze safety data to identify trends and report recommendations to project leadership

Qualifications & Requirements Education:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related construction safety experience.

Certifications:

Current OSHA 30-hour certification is required. BCSP designations like the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) are preferred.

Compliance Knowledge:

Prefer someone with experience working on the Army Corps of Engineers projects.

Physical Demands:

Ability to navigate rough terrain, climb ladders/scaffolding, and work in varying climate conditions.

Skills:

Exceptional communication, strong leadership, and the ability to build professional relationships with trades and management

Pay:

$68,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
