It has a high level of independence and decision-making authority to oversee the work of the EHSC, which includes advancing research in environmental health sciences, environmental justice, and health disparities across multiple colleges, departments, and centers, as well as promoting the translation of environmental health research for communities and policy-makers. This position has autonomy to direct program activities, communication strategy, staffing, and budget matters. This position is responsible for both short and long-term strategic planning; fostering collaborative relationships throughout UC Davis and across the region; developing and implementing center programs; and seeking external funding. The Program Manager directs the activities of the entire Environmental Health Sciences Center and supervises the work of all staff in communications and administrative roles, assists the Core leaders in their programs such as the Pilot Projects, Exposure Core, Translational Research Support Core, and Community Engagement Core, and ensures communications regarding the Center's activities throughout UC Davis and UCD Health, and the communities with which the Center partners. The Program Manager promotes development and submission of grant proposals emanating from pilot projects, seed awards and other activities, and provides broad oversight to enhance visibility of Center activities, support social media communications, and conduct outreach through presentations at local, regional and national conferences, peer reviewed journal publications, op-eds, or others.   • For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position CITI Certification MS, MA, or MPH degree and/or equivalent experience and training A minimum of four years of demonstrated experience creating long-term vision and strategic planning to determine areas of improvement and programmatic success.
A minimum of four years of demonstrated experience exhibiting a high level of diplomacy in facilitating relationships and meetings among Center leaders, donors, and government officials. A minimum four years of experience providing sound recommendations continually to faculty, the Center Leadership Group, and external advisory committee members. A minimum four years of experience managing large public health programs or other large research centers. A minimum four years of experience leading multidisciplinary faculty teams to achieve common goal. Five to seven years of experience prioritizing programmatic initiatives, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring programmatic success Five to seven years of experience developing and implementing research projects; contributing to study design; identifying potential implementation challenges and ensuring adherence to study protocols. A minimum of four years of experience navigating grant submission requirements. Excellent organizational skills to set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain a high level of productivity and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of environmental health sciences, environmental justice, and/or environmental health disparities. Knowledge of California wildfires, heat, other climate-related issues, air pollution, and toxicant exposures in daily life, and health effects. Knowledge of the principles and practices of research management to effectively and ethically manage complex studies. Demonstrated supervisory experience including conflict resolution, team building, and promoting professional development. Excellent public speaking and writing skills in English. Preferred Qualifications HIPAA Certification Doctorate degree Demonstrated experience facilitating community-scientist partnerships. Knowledge of health status of vulnerable working populations, including farmworkers. Demonstrated knowledge of federal grant funding regulations; human subject research guidelines; and UC Davis procedures and policies. Demonstrated success obtaining research grant funding. Demonstrated success identifying and obtaining programmatic income. Knowledge of California state agencies and programs and their roles in environmental health.
