Job Description:
Daily Security Supervision Serve as the liaison between the College and contracted security providers, communicating campus security needs and expectations Lead onboarding and training of contracted security officers in coordination with the College's security vendor Provide general supervision of contract security officers, and proactively communicate daily campus security needs and expectations Lead, evaluate, and assess the performance of security officers in conjunction with the contracted security manager Coach and give direction to security personnel, act as on-site leadership Ensure proper staffing coverage, develop work schedules, assign duties; monitor attendance, appearance and alertness; maintain discipline; observe and evaluate performance, demeanor and conduct Complete reports documenting shift issues and successes for the Director of Facilities and Safety Proactively assesses daily campus security needs and adjusts deployment of contracted security staff to ensure optimal coverage, visibility, and risk mitigation Emergency response & preparedness Serve as initial responder during emergencies; act as liaison between campus personnel and local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services Plan, coordinate, and execute the campus emergency preparedness programs, including developing and conducting required drills in compliance with federal and state mandates Assist the Director of Facilities and Safety with development and implementation of preventative measures against accidents, thefts and other risks Monitor and track video surveillance system, maintain security logs and incident reporting Manage student and employee parking registration and distribution process Manage investigation of security violations and proactively communicate next steps and findings Is alert to and ensures the timely correction of all campus safety hazards and regular testing of all safety equipment Make department decisions when Director of Facilities and Safety is not available Maintain and test campus PA System, ensuring system readiness Conduct campus safety inspections Compliance and reporting: Ensure compliance of applicable policies, regulations, and proper emergency protocols for any crime, emergency, or other serious incident Assist with campus Clery compliance program per federal mandate Maintain post orders in conjunction with the public safety contractor Maintain and oversee the annual schedule for fire system inspections and testing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Other duties: Assist Student Affairs department with any student related issues as needed Assists the Director of Facilities and Safety as needed Other duties which may arise from time to time
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to work 40 hours per week. Excellent computer skills including knowledge of

Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access. Ability to work a flexible schedule including select evenings and weekends to meet college business needs. Must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude. Ability to communicate difficult messages in a professional manner. Ability to work with and communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and at all levels. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines. Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner Must be goal and team oriented to build positive working relationships, and conduct business with attention to ethical considerations, and/or school/accreditation guidelines. Ability to maintain card access, critical communication, fire and security alarms, IP camera systems. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form. While performing the duties the individual is required to stand, walk, climb stairwells, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Work is frequently performed inside, with occasional outdoor duties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree OR Associate Degree and 2 years of directly related experience (to substitute for the Bachelor's Degree); 2 years of supervisory experience Has a valid driver's license and ability to pass a driver's background check Knowledge of higher education compliance requirements (Campus Security Act, OSHA, FERPA, Title IX) First responder, first aid, CPR, AED certification Preferred knowledge of card access, critical communication, fire and security alarms, IP camera systems Effective written and verbal communication skills sufficient to participate in discussions and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
