Safety Program Manager Position Location:
Remote - work virtually anywhere in the United States along with periodic jobsite visits. Job Summary The Safety Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving a comprehensive safety program tailored to the demands of commercial and industrial construction. This role serves as the company's internal safety champion, working in close partnership with our sister company safety organization to define, structure, and codify safety standards, processes, and culture specific to our project types, workforce, and operational environment. The Safety Program Manager will be self-directed on day-to-day safety activities and independently perform most responsibilities. In partnership with relevant internal and external partners, this role will help shape and evolve the company's safety program The Safety Program Manager will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safety Program Development & Ownership (30%) Partner with the sister company safety team to evaluate existing safety practices, identify gaps, and build a customized safety program aligned with commercial and industrial construction operations Develop, document, and maintain company-specific safety policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines Create and manage a comprehensive library of safety program materials including site-specific safety plans, emergency action plans, and pre-task planning templates Establish safety performance metrics (leading and lagging indicators) and maintain regular reporting cadence to Operations leadership Lead the ongoing refinement and maturation of the safety program as the company grows, incorporating lessons learned, regulatory updates, and industry best practices Jobsite Safety & Compliance (25%) Conduct periodic jobsite visits to audit compliance with site-specific safety plans, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards Review, approve, and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) prior to the start of high-risk or specialized work activities Oversee the setup, organization, and ongoing management of project safety trailers, including required regulatory postings, first aid supplies, emergency contact information, and safety documentation Manage the procurement, issuance, tracking, and compliance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across all active projects and ensure adherence to PPE requirements by all personnel Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare thorough root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive action plans Maintain

logs and ensure accurate, timely regulatory reporting and recordkeeping Training & Safety Culture (20%) Develop and deliver safety training programs for field workers, foremen, superintendents, and project management staff covering OSHA standards, hazard recognition, and company-specific requirements Facilitate new hire safety orientations and ensure all field personnel maintain required safety certifications and training records Lead and support toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and safety stand-downs across project teams Foster a proactive, accountability-driven safety culture through consistent field engagement, safety recognition, and positive reinforcement Coach and mentor field supervisors and foremen on safety leadership, hazard identification, and incident prevention Documentation & Reporting (15%) Prepare and manage all project-level safety documentation including site safety plans, pre-construction safety submittals, and owner/GC-required safety deliverables Maintain organized and audit-ready safety records for all active and completed projects, including JHAs, safety meeting minutes, inspection reports, and incident records Track and report on safety program KPIs to Operations leadership on a regular basis, including incident rates, near-miss reporting trends, training compliance, and inspection findings Support project teams in responding to owner, GC, or regulatory safety audits and inspections Organizational Development & Continuous Improvement (10%) Contribute to the development of internal safety policies, templates, and tools that standardize safety practices across all projects Stay current on OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and commercial/industrial construction safety best practices; communicate relevant updates to the organization Identify and recommend technology tools and platforms to improve safety documentation, reporting, and communication Assist Operations and HR leadership in developing safety performance expectations, disciplinary procedures, and return-to-work processes Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget Other Related Duties as Assigned

(Construction) standards and their practical application on commercial and industrial jobsites Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing safety programs within a commercial or industrial construction environment Strong working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) development, review, and enforcement for high-risk construction activities Experience managing PPE programs including hazard assessment, selection, procurement, issuance, and compliance tracking Familiarity with site safety trailer setup, regulatory posting requirements, first aid program management, and emergency action planning Proven ability to conduct effective safety training, toolbox talks, and field-level coaching for diverse construction crews Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation Working knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping requirements (300/300A logs) and regulatory reporting obligations Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate safety requirements to field personnel, project managers, owners, and regulatory agencies Skilled using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams); familiarity with safety management software a plus Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities across concurrent projects, and drive accountability without direct authority Ability to maintain high standards of documentation, confidentiality, and professional conduct

TRAVEL/RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS
Up to 25%, primarily local and regional travel to active construction jobsites Effective May 7, 2025, and in accordance with U.S. federal regulations for domestic air travel, a valid REAL ID (or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport) is required for travel associated with this position. Travel may involve transportation by car or plane depending on the destination and nature of the business need. Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meetings for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered OSHA 30-Hour Construction (required)

- Trainer Course for Construction (preferred) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) also valued PLUS Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive safety experience in commercial and/or industrial construction, with demonstrated responsibility for safety program management, field compliance, and cross-functional collaboration
