As a Safety Manager, you will provide sitewide safety leadership and management while supporting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) objectives, OSHA compliance, employee training, hazard reduction, and continuous improvement for MAU operations. This is a Direct-Hire position. Friday, typically 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM Some weekends are required based on business needs Must be available on call 24/7 for mill-wide safety and HR issues, including injuries, property damage, and personnel incidents Career Path Platform Manager Site Manager General Manager Director Other Corporate Support Functions Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of applicable experience Current General Industry OSHA Outreach Instructor Completion of OTI 511 and OTI 501 Preferred Education and Experience Lean Green Belt Root cause analysis training General Requirements Strong communication skills Customer and client focus Strong organizational skills Problem-solving and analytical abilities Sound decision-making skills Leadership capabilities Strategic thinking Results-driven mindset Ability to identify workplace hazards Ethical conduct Personal effectiveness and credibility Ability to provide leadership to full-time employees, supervisors, and associates Ability to direct the activities of shift supervision and approximately 100-150 hourly employees Ability to interface effectively with MAU branch personnel, onsite personnel, MAU associates, corporate support teams, and customer leadership Essential Functions Provide safety management and leadership across the site to support Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) objectives Manage MAU staff assigned to specific assets across multiple-shift operations Serve as a subject matter expert in material flow processes and champion continuous improvement initiatives Ensure material flow processes meet established SQDC standards Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations Oversee multiple raw materials with critical process variables requiring appropriate controls Provide leadership to full-time employees within the platform and across the mill Sustain and support Leader Standard Work for MAU supervision Assist with conflict resolution involving employees, supervisors, and customer representatives Develop and implement employee evaluation processes, including PDAs and KPIs, and monitor and mentor MAU leaders reporting to the position Manage the PDA program to ensure compliance with established target dates Manage the MAU at K-C Safety Program Facilitate the annual safety program assessment and Safety Action Plan Facilitate onboarding for new associates Manage OSHA-required safety programs and facilitate annual OSHA-required training for associates Facilitate the Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Training Program Oversee and support the development of safety training materials, standard work, and other documentation to standardize processes and protect employees Develop processes that minimize injury and incident exposure while supporting operational profitability Partner closely with K-C and MAU leadership to maintain safety as a top operational priority Perform safety audits using SafetyNet, Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) observations Maintain and trend safety data to identify workplace safety concerns and opportunities for improvement Develop and train MAU associates on methods to eliminate or reduce identified safety risks Mentor and coach associates on workplace safety practices and expectations Respond to mill-wide safety and HR incidents, including injuries, property damage, and personnel matters Serve on the K-C Safety Steering Committee and MAU Safety Steering Committee Serve as part of the MAU HR Team Manage SafetyNet for MAU at K-C Serve as an OSHA Outreach Trainer and facilitate OSHA 10-Hour and OSHA 30-Hour courses for MAU Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, correcting unsafe conditions, and continuously improving workplace safety practices Work Environment and Physical Demands Work is performed in customer facilities, including administrative, manufacturing, and warehouse environments Manufacturing and warehouse environments may include process manufacturing equipment and heavy-powered industrial vehicles Working conditions may range from non-air-conditioned hot or cold environments to GMP clean-room environments Physical Requirements Ability to walk up to 6 miles per day, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to lift up to 15 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Travel Occasional travel for off-site training or team-building activities Less than 25 miles of travel per month MAU Workforce Solutions is an innovative global company with extensive experience providing solutions for success in staffing, recruiting, technology and outsourcing to our clients, employees, and applicants.
