Our restaurants are award winning and well-loved locally and nationally. They have been recognized as Southern Living's "Best Restaurant in the South," Bon Appetit's "50 Best New Restaurants in America," and have been nominated as Semifinalists for the James Beard Awards. We are seeking a Director of Safety to lead and manage the safety operations for three restaurant properties. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of all staff, guests, and company assets while maintaining the warm, guest-focused atmosphere that defines our establishments. The Director of Safety serves as both a field leader and strategic overseer for all safety functions across our restaurants. You'll manage a team of safety personnel, oversee surveillance and alarm systems, conduct audits, and take a proactive approach to loss prevention and risk management. This role combines operational leadership, hands-on fieldwork, and administrative precision. Key Responsibilities Lead all aspects of safety operations across three restaurant locations, including supervision, scheduling, training, and development of on-site safety personnel. Conduct regular site visits and work scheduled shifts to maintain visibility and engagement with staff and guests. Maintain and oversee camera, alarm, and key access systems to ensure consistent functionality and control. Partner with company leadership and restaurant management on background checks, disciplinary actions, and compliance audits. Respond to after-hours incidents or alarms, coordinating with law enforcement and internal leadership as needed. Identify and address potential safety vulnerabilities, implementing solutions to prevent theft, vandalism, and safety hazards. Serve as a key liaison during any potential investigations and in communication with company leadership on any safety concerns.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
A confident leader with experience in safety, security, or risk management — ideally within hospitality or multi-unit operations. Professional, composed, and able to handle sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment. Organized, accountable, and proactive in problem-solving and team leadership. Comfortable balancing field work, administrative duties, and strategic oversight. Flexible and responsive to the dynamic needs of a late-night hospitality environment. Requirements Prior leadership experience in a safety, security, or law enforcement capacity (hospitality background a plus). Strong knowledge of safety protocols, surveillance systems, and local compliance standards. Ability to work nights and weekends as required by the role. Ability to lift 50lbs.
