Safety Coordinator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to support a utility-scale solar project. This role is pivotal in maintaining a strong safety culture on-site by ensuring all employees and subcontractors adhere to established safety protocols across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with site leadership to proactively identify hazards, enforce compliance, and support daily operations to ensure a safe and productive project environment. Responsibilities Conduct daily site safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and daily safety briefings for crews and subcontractors. Develop, review, and enforce Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safe work practices. Monitor field activities across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes to ensure safe execution. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations and implement corrective actions. Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to fall protection, LOTO, and equipment safety procedures. Maintain accurate safety documentation, daily logs, and reports within the system. Partner with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to promote continuous improvement in safety performance. Essential Skills Construction site safety oversight within utility-scale solar or heavy civil environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards. Hazard identification and risk mitigation. Incident investigation and reporting. Experience leading safety meetings, orientations, and trainings. Ability to work cross-functionally with field teams and subcontractors. Strong communication and leadership presence in the field. Proficiency with Procore or similar safety documentation systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in safety or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of project experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional and completion of the
OSHA 510. A CHST

Work Environment Work outdoors at a solar project in Hartsville, SC, in a new construction environment. Individuals will work 5-6 shifts a week, totaling 40-50 hours, starting at 7 AM daily. Three breaks are provided each day (morning, lunch, afternoon). Work clothing suitable for outdoor conditions is required. Mileage is compensated for work-related tasks, and a company truck or mileage reimbursement is available if using a personal vehicle. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hartsville, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
