POSITION SUMMARY

Develop, implement and lead the factory's EHS programs and strategies to ensure a safe and environmentally compliant work environment. This role involves a blend of strategic planning, operational execution, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at minimizing risks and promoting sustainability across all operations. Provides consultation and training to employees on environmental, health, and safety matters. Implements, monitors, and enforces environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures. Develops environmental, health, and safety plans, programs, and procedures. Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure ongoing compliance in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for employees to ensure understanding and compliance with EHS standards and practices.
  • Manage and maintain EHS documentation, including permits, safety data sheets (SDS), and records of incidents and corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies for all EHS matters, including inspections, permits, and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS practices, aiming for best-in-class standards.
  • Monitor emerging EHS legislation and ensure the company's ongoing compliance.
  • Manage and oversee the company's waste management and recycling programs, ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability.
  • Report monthly safety indicators to plant staff and Vertiv's Environmental & Safety Departments.
  • Accountable for environmental and safety on both plants.
  • Supervision of Safety and Medical department staff.
  • Oversees Plant Security Services
  • Develop and manage safety budget and resources effectively.
  • Lead employee safety committees and encourage participation in safety initiatives
  • Ensure the availability and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5 years of experience in Maquiladora environment in similar position.

  • Strong knowledge of Environmental & Safety regulations.
  • Experience in accident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Experience in leadership, development and promotion of initiatives.
  • Fluent English preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Good understanding of ergonomics.
  • Ability to conduct controlled audits. .

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health, Environmental Science, or a related field Preferred Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or related field
