Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Working Fire Protection Superintendent to lead and oversee fire protection projects within the construction/ service industry. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate the planning, execution, and supervision of fire suppression systems, ensuring all work complies with safety standards, project specifications, and client expectations. Your leadership will drive project success from inception to completion, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency across all phases of construction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage projects while utilizing cutting-edge management software and technical tools. This position will also require the applicant to perform service work, inspections, & contract field work as needed. Duties Lead and supervise fire protection installation teams on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and safety protocols. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools. Oversee the review of blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of fire suppression systems. Manage procurement and tracking of materials using Construction Management Software such as ProCore and Bluebeam to maintain project flow. Conduct quality control inspections to verify compliance with OSHA standards, building codes, and client specifications. Supervise site safety practices by enforcing OSHA regulations and conducting regular safety audits to minimize risks. Prepare detailed reports on project progress, budget status, and safety compliance; address any issues promptly to keep projects on track. Review contracts and change orders related to fire protection scope; negotiate modifications as needed while maintaining project integrity. Utilize tools like Ohmmeter for electrical testing of fire alarm systems and ensure all systems meet operational standards before handover. Foster effective communication among team members, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate seamless project execution. Experience Proven management experience supervising fire protection or related construction projects in a fast-paced environment. Extensive knowledge of construction management practices including scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration. Strong background in construction site experience with hands-on familiarity reading blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings. Demonstrated proficiency with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid or equivalent tools. Prior experience supervising teams with a focus on safety compliance per OSHA standards; excellent leadership skills in managing diverse crews. Familiarity with fire suppression systems installation including piping, sprinkler systems, alarms, and related components. Ability to interpret technical schematics and use testing equipment like ohmmeters for electrical system verification. Knowledge of construction estimating processes for fire protection scope; capable of managing budgets effectively while maintaining quality standards.
