Why you'll love this job This job is a member of the Technical Operations Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) If you are looking to make a difference and have an opportunity to elevate safety in Tech Ops, this is the position for you. This position will be responsible for performing analysis of ASAP and other relevant data to identify potential risks and improvements , performs risk and root cause analysis, interfaces with subject matter experts (SME) to identify causal factors maintenance escapes, and evaluates current processes and procedures for effectiveness. This job is also responsible for preparing reports related to the Tech Ops ASAP Program for upper and senior management. There will be opportunities to present to various groups and senior leadership as determined by the Manager. Collaboration and relationships are critical to the success of this role. Collaboration with operational leaders, operational team members, union representatives, Tech Ops supporting departments, other ASAPs (e.g. Flight, Flight Service, Ground/Ramp, Dispatch, etc.) and other operating departments. What you'll do As noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced. Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations. Provide support for American Airlines Tech Ops Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). Assist with projects and process studies for the Tech Ops ASAP to promote Safety in preventing accidents and incidents while enhancing Company policy and FAR (Federal Aviation Regulation) compliance. Gathers & categorizes information concerning ASAP reports prior to the Event Review Committee (ERC) meeting. This includes, but is not limited to, communicating with other departments helping the ERC with their report evaluation, categorization, and disposition. Identify & Analyze safety and compliance trends and concerns arising from the ASAP including preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and charts for AA updates. The ability to tell the data story is critical. Create Event Review Committee (ERC) Agendas for weekly meetings Takes and maintains Event Review Committee (ERC) meeting minutes, attendance, and action items. Back up Chairperson of the ASAP Event Review Committee (ERC). Participate/Interact and Interface with M&E departments, FAA and labor union members of the ERC for information sharing and corrective actions. Develop safety & compliance materials including posters and power point presentations to represent the department in meetings as required Interface with other ASAP teams sharing, analyzing, and reporting information Any other duties assigned by the TechOps ASAP program Manager All you'll need for success Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience Bachelor's Degree, or aviation related field or equivalent experience in airport ground operations 3+ years' experience in aviation industry Experience in metrics, development of dashboards, and data analysis Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able to perform duties under strict confidentiality guidelines. Ability to travel (25%) Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience Experience in a frontline or supervisory position in airport ground operations Experience in the use of SCEPTRE, TABLEAU, CERS, SHAREPOINT, and WBAT or similar complex database system Knowledge of company policies and safety procedures Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) Data analysis experience Skills, Licenses & Certifications Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint Ability to handle multiple projects and changing deadlines What you'll get Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer:
