Job Description
National Food Distributor is seeking a- Safety & LP Manager Temp to perm contract Full benefits once hired ~ Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance.
Job Purpose:
- Take the lead on New Hire Safety-related training for Virginia facility
- Provide refresher and/or annual training to existing employees as required.
- Must remain current on HACCP, OSHA, GMP, SSOP, and other related regulations and constantly strive to improve training programs using industry best practices.
- Supervise the day-to-day Loss Prevention and Security Operations of the
Distribution Centers Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and coordinate with ongoing employee training including new hire orientation, completion of new hire safety paperwork, facility tours;
- Provide Powered Material Handling Operators with proper training and certification;
- Provide Proper SSOP training and certification where required;
- Liaise with employees, managers, HR team, regional EH&S manager and corporate HR to ensure training program is current and compliant to applicable legislation;
- Ensure compliance to HACCP and other regulatory requirements and provide food safety training;
- Liaise with regulators, managers and Director to ensure HACCP program Is current and compliant to applicable legislation;
- Provide managers with ongoing feedback on HACCP compliance, employee training goals and objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites work flow.
- Trains employees to spot theft and stop theft
- Issues written and oral instructions to subordinates.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness prior to deadlines.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 2 to 5 years' experience in a warehouse environment with a working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, OSHA, FDA and other regulatory requirements.
- Powered Material Handling Equipment/Train the Trainer training.
- Must have good organizational/document control abilities.
- Knowledge of LP programs
- Knowledge of Contractual Security duties.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with the ability to perform multiple tasks, schedule priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Windows based computer applications.
- Proactive, confident approach to the job.
- Self-motivated and dedicated to excelling in the role.
- Strong sense of teamwork.
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent and relevant certifications and/or experience.
