Description Essential Responsibilities:
Lead all site-level EHS initiatives in accordance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and other applicable regulatory agencies. Manage and continuously improve the facility's Safety Program, including training, audits, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and incident investigations. Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental compliance activities including hazardous waste, stormwater, and wastewater management. Monitor and manage the facility's industrial wastewater system, including compliance reporting, sampling schedules, and coordination with municipal water authorities. Conduct environmental inspections and ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste. Maintain EHS records, permits, and documentation required for regulatory compliance and internal audits. Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and HR to ensure safe work practices and employee accountability. Manage safety committees, lead monthly meetings, and support behavior-based safety (BBS) programs. Develop and deliver training related to safety, environmental compliance, emergency response, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, PPE, and other EHS topics. Lead emergency preparedness planning, including fire drills and spill response procedures. Track and report EHS metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses, etc.) and develop actionable plans to improve performance.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in forging or metalworking. Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ regulations, particularly related to industrial wastewater and air permitting. Proven experience with wastewater system operations and environmental sampling/reporting. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.
