Data Center Construction Safety Manager - Owner's Representative on Site Full Time Position Summary The Data Center Construction Safety Manager - Owner's Representative serves as the owner's on-site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) leader, providing independent oversight and assurance that all construction activities are executed safely, in compliance with applicable regulations, contractual requirements, and owner safety standards. This role acts as the owner's advocate, partnering with general contractors, trade partners, project management teams, and stakeholders to proactively identify risks, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the successful delivery of projects without incident. The Safety Manager provides leadership, coaching, auditing, and escalation support to foster a world-class safety culture throughout all phases of construction.

$95,000.00- $140,000.00 Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership & Oversight Serve as the owner's primary on-site EHS representative for construction activities. Promote a proactive safety culture focused on injury prevention, hazard recognition, and continuous improvement. Provide visible safety leadership through daily field engagement and interaction with contractors and project teams. Influence project leadership and trade partners to achieve safety excellence and compliance with owner expectations. Field Monitoring and Compliance Conduct daily site inspections, observations, and safety assessments. Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, owner standards, project-specific requirements, and industry best practices. Verify implementation of critical risk management programs, including: o Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) o Electrical Safety o Work at Heights o Excavation & Trenching o Confined Space Entry o Hot Work o Rigging & Hoisting o Mobile Equipment Operations o Hazardous Materials Management Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and ensure timely corrective actions. Auditing & Risk Management Perform formal and informal audits of contractors and subcontractors. Evaluate contractor safety performance, leading indicators, and risk trends. Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), permits, and safe work procedures. Develop and communicate recommendations to mitigate project risks. Escalate significant safety concerns to project leadership as necessary. Incident Prevention & Investigation Lead or support investigations involving incidents, near misses, property damage events, and high-potential occurrences. Identify root causes and corrective actions. Ensure lessons learned are communicated and incorporated into future work activities. Contractor Management Assess contractor EHS staffing, competency, and program effectiveness. Participate in contractor onboarding, orientation, and performance evaluations. Hold contractors accountable for meeting contractual safety requirements and project expectations. Support corrective action development and implementation. Reporting & Communication Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports. Track key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, observations, corrective actions, and audit findings. Present safety performance updates to owner leadership and project stakeholders. Participate in owner, contractor, and trade partner meetings. Continuous Improvement Support implementation of safety campaigns, recognition programs, and workforce engagement initiatives. Benchmark project performance against industry best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety performance and operational excellence. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience. Minimum 5 years supporting large-scale mission-critical, data center, industrial, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or advanced technology construction projects. Experience working as an Owner's Representative, General Contractor Safety Manager, or Corporate EHS Professional preferred. Demonstrated experience managing high-risk construction activities.
