GED Full Job Description Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead our enterprise-wide safety and compliance programs. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, with a strong emphasis on FMCSA and OSHA standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering effective training while driving a strong safety culture across all Mesa Branch Locations, Long Distance/Local Operations and remote Employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with all applicable FMCSA, OSHA, DOT, UniGroup/United Van lines and state/local regulations Conduct hands-on safety training to Operational Employees and Contractors, including: Driver safety and defensive driving Pre-trip and post-trip inspections Hours of Service (HOS) and log compliance Forklift certification and recertification New hire safety orientation Perform OSHA warehouse mock audits, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions Assist with driver qualification files. Conduct job site visits, ride-along, and field audits to ensure safe work practices Manage and enforce equipment safety standards, including inspections and maintenance compliance Partner with operations, fleet, and leadership teams to address safety risks and exposures Ensure contractors and third-party labor meet company safety and compliance requirements Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks/tailgate meetings, and ongoing training initiatives Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of safety management experience (transportation, logistics, or warehouse environment preferred) Strong working knowledge of FMCSA and OSHA regulations Experience with driver safety programs, fleet compliance, and warehouse safety Ability to conduct hands-on training and engage employees at all levels Experience performing audits, and inspections. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excel and safety/compliance tracking systems High School Diploma or equivalent required Preferred Certifications (not required but a plus): OSHA 30
