Medical, Dental, Paid Vacation, Company Vehicle Position Overview Northeast Contracting Company LLC (NECC) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Director, Safety (HSE) to lead our safety programs and ensure the highest standards of workplace safety across all commercial roofing projects in VA, DC, MD, and NC. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety protocols that protect our team members, clients, and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a deep knowledge of construction safety practices, and the ability to foster a culture of safety throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities Safety Program Management Develop, implement, and monitor company-wide safety policies and procedures Conduct regular job site inspections to identify hazards and ensure OSHA compliance Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for all field staff Investigate incidents and near-misses, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions Maintain accurate safety documentation and compliance records Field Support & Coordination Partner with superintendents, project managers, and crew leaders to maintain safe job sites Ensure all employees and subcontractors are equipped with proper PPE and safety equipment Oversee the implementation of fall protection, hazard communication, and other safety programs Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance during material delivery and installation Assist in emergency response planning and drills Leadership & Communication Promote a strong safety culture through consistent communication and visible leadership Serve as the primary contact for all safety-related matters, internally and externally Participate in project planning meetings to integrate safety into project execution Stay current on federal, state, and local safety regulations as well as industry best practices Qualifications Required Minimum 8+ years of experience in construction safety (roofing or commercial construction preferred) Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety requirements Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills Proficiency with safety reporting tools and related software Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites OSHA 30 certification First Aid/CPR certification Prior experience in commercial roofing safety management Preferred OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer CHST or CSP First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Medical and Dental Insurance Paid Vacation Company Vehicle Provided Opportunities for continued education and leadership development Join Our Team At Northeast Contracting Company LLC, safety isn't just a requirement—it's a core value.
