Job Title:
Safety Specialist Job Description As a Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety plans that align with OSHA, FDA, and pharmaceutical industry standards. You will conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards related to chemical handling, cleanroom construction, and specialized equipment installation. Your role will ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations through regular site inspections and audits. You will also lead investigations of incidents and recommend corrective actions, coordinate and deliver safety training programs, and maintain accurate safety documentation. Responsibilities + Develop and implement site-specific safety programs aligned with OSHA, FDA, and industry standards. + Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in chemical handling and cleanroom construction. + Monitor compliance by ensuring adherence to safety protocols, PPE requirements, and regulatory standards. + Regularly audit construction areas for unsafe practices, equipment misuse, or environmental risks. + Lead root-cause analysis of accidents, near-misses, or safety violations and recommend corrective actions. + Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions on hazardous materials, confined spaces, and emergency response. + Maintain accurate records of safety audits, permits, incident reports, and compliance certifications. + Collaborate with project teams, including engineers and project managers, to integrate safety into construction phases. Essential Skills + Proficient in developing and implementing safety plans. + Experienced in conducting risk assessments and identifying potential hazards. + Knowledgeable in OSHA, FDA, and pharmaceutical industry standards. + Skilled in monitoring compliance and conducting site inspections. + Ability to investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions. + Experienced in coordinating and delivering safety training programs. + Strong documentation and record-keeping skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Safety. + 3+years of experience working as a safety specialist at a construction company. + OSHA 30 certification. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.82/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
