Environmental, Health, & Safety Specialist

We're partnering with a growing manufacturing company in the Birmingham area to find an experienced EHS Specialist to lead and support environmental and safety initiatives across the facility. This is a highly visible role responsible for driving compliance, improving workplace safety, and leading environmental programs in alignment with key regulatory and ISO standards. What You'll Do Lead and manage the company's environmental programs, ensuring compliance with

EPA, ADEM, OSHA, ISO

14001, and

ISO 45001

Support and strengthen overall health & safety programs across the plant Conduct risk assessments and incident investigations; implement corrective actions Maintain environmental permits, records, and reporting requirements Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership teams Lead audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives Develop and deliver training programs to promote a strong safety culture Identify hazards and recommend preventative measures across the facility Support workers' compensation processes and regulatory reporting as needed What We're Looking For 2-5 years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred) Strong knowledge of ADEM, air/water permitting, and environmental compliance Familiarity with ISO standards and audit processes Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general reporting tools Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) OSHA 30 certification, ISO 14001 auditor training, or First Responder certification Experience with continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, 5S, etc.) What You Can Expect A dynamic role split between the production floor and office environment High impact on safety culture and environmental performance Opportunity to work with leadership and influence plant-wide initiatives Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
