Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
Specialist Location:
Decatur, Alabama FabArc Steel Supply is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support our structural steel and vessel fabrication operations in Decatur, Alabama. This position will serve as the primary onsite safety professional and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that promote a safe and compliant work environment. This is a first-shift position. Responsibilities Safety Programs and Compliance Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the facility Conduct new hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training Coordinate and lead monthly safety meetings Conduct routine safety audits and inspections Monitor and enforce PPE compliance and safe work practices Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and develop corrective actions Maintain OSHA compliance and OSHA recordkeeping, including
OSHA 300
logs Assist management in identifying and reducing workplace hazards Workers' Compensation Coordinate workers' compensation claims and related documentation Communicate with employees, supervisors, medical providers, and insurance representatives Manage return-to-work and transitional duty programs Environmental Compliance Coordinate hazardous waste management activities in accordance with applicable regulations Assist with environmental permitting and compliance requirements Maintain environmental records and documentation Administrative Responsibilities Maintain safety documentation, training records, and compliance files Complete customer safety questionnaires and contractor prequalification requirements Assist with development and implementation of safety policies and procedures Prepare reports and recommendations related to safety performance and compliance Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, industrial, or related safety environments preferred Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices Experience conducting investigations, audits, and safety training preferred Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Preferred Qualifications OSHA 30 certification First Aid/CPR certification Experience with workers' compensation administration Experience in structural steel, vessel fabrication, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments About FabArc Steel Supply FabArc Steel Supply is an employee-owned company committed to providing a safe, productive, and professional work environment. $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
