We are seeking a Project Safety Specialist to support safety efforts across construction and energy projects. This role is focused on jobsite safety leadership, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and promoting a strong safety culture across all assigned projects. This is a field-focused role ideal for someone who thrives in construction environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about safety leadership.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Conduct jobsite safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments Ensure compliance with OSHA (1910 & 1926), EM 385-1-1, and applicable regulations Identify hazards and implement corrective actions in partnership with project teams Participate in project planning meetings to ensure site-specific safety plans are in place Monitor high-risk activities (e.g., crane lifts, energized work, confined space) Serve as the project-level point of contact for safety incidents and coordinate response efforts Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents; document findings and implement corrective actions Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records Deliver toolbox talks and project-specific safety training Track safety metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to promote safe work practices Support Project Managers with daily reporting, project meetings, and coordination of on-site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors Travel to project and service sites as requiredWHAT YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (or equivalent experience) 1-3+ years of construction or field safety experience OSHA 30 certification required Safety certifications (CHST, ASP, CSP) preferred Strong knowledge of OSHA standards; familiarity withEM 385-1-1
strongly preferred Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills Ability to identify hazards and proactively mitigate risk Ability to influence teams and enforce safety standards without direct authority Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Procore or similar tools preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to obtain and maintain access to federal facilities (including military bases), if requiredWORKING CONDITIONS & TRAVEL
Work across office settings, federal facilities (including military bases), and active construction sites Travel required to job sites, including Maxwell AFB, Clinton Annex, and other regional locations Travel may include overnight staysWHY JOIN US
